Voter Toolkit

Voting has become more complicated in Georgia since the 2020 election. The pages of this voter toolkit are intended to help you see what has changed, what hasn't, and how to navigate through the system.

There are many changes in Georgia's voting laws, but not all of them affect how you cast your ballot. Here are the top differences:

Absentee Ballots

  • Must be requested, either online from the Georgia Secretary of State's website, or in person at your local Election Board office;
  • The request may be made no more than two and a half months (78 days) or less than two weeks (11 days) before the election;
  • ID required: your GA driver's license number or the last four digits of your Social Security number.

Early Voting

  • There are still three weeks of early voting but only two Saturdays and one Sunday.

Drop Boxes

  • All drop boxes must now be located inside early voting polling places and are only available during early voting hours;
  • One box is now mandated per county, and Chatham was allowed two.
